Learn To Tell A Great Story To Raise More Funds

You need to make sure your potential donor knows why you need their money and why they are the right one to make a purchase from or donation to your organization.  To do that you need to tell a great story.

Your fundraising project always sounds better when more people know about it.  Telling a great story is the best way to spread your message.  The five “Ws” of journalism are a good place to start.  Make sure your promotional materials or offer always include Who, What, Where, When and Why.

All the Ws are important.  Make sure there are all included in every message you send out.  It doesn’t matter if it is a simple flyer, a press release, Social Media or an email your message will be more effective if your reader or listener (potential buyer) is fully informed.

Keep in mind that a great story is not a long drawn out affair. Great stories are told in small, concise portions of information. This helps your buyer or donor process the story and also keeps them interested. Take breaths in between tidbits and put in some energy to each measure.

Once you tell your story we hope you will use Sunset Coupon Books as your fundraising vehicle.  Each Sunset Coupon Book contains more than $400 dollars-worth of coupons from local merchants and restaurants. These are usually half off or two for one offers.

The coupons are for local merchants and feature great food and wonderful entertainment.  The Perfect Fundraiser for Phoenix, Tempe / Mesa, Tucson Arizona or Salt Lake City Utah.  The coupon books you use are for your area and can feature your group on the cover.

You can go from thinking about raising funds to actually being able to sell Sunset Coupon Books in just about 10 days.  What percentage of the hundreds attending photo day of your sports program will buy your coupon books?

Sunset Coupon Books For Your Back To School Fundraisers

It is that time of year again.  Everyone is hurrying to get there back to school shopping done. They are in full back to school mode. It is the perfect time to do a fundraiser for your school or school group. Back to School is top of mind for many people and if your group uses this time of year to raise your funds it fits in perfectly.

Nearly all school groups, schools (all levels) and sports organizations raise funds to pay for supplies and equipment and to supplement other school activities.

Most schools hold between one and five fundraisers per year, and one in four schools holds between five and ten fundraisers per year.  This activity makes school group fundraisers a common and often constant part of students', staff and parents' lives.

Back to School Fundraisers – Learn To Stand Out.  Offer what the others aren’t offering.

To help combat this overload of “fundraising” it is best to make sure the efforts are as effective as possible.  The most income in the shortest possible time.  The last result you want is for the donors or customers to think, “oh no not another fundraiser” when asked to buy or donate.

You could buy bottled water, ice and arrange to sell them at school events or outside a local shopping mall (as long as temperatures remain high) for a dollar each.  Your cost should be just under 10 cents each giving you about $20.00 profit per case of 24 bottles sold.  It needs to be hot enough to have thirsty people.  You can also sell the water for less and sell more but at a lower profit level.  It just depends on your expectation of ROI.

Consider using Sunset Coupon Books for a sales tool that works year round no matter what the temperature is.  Each sale nets your group a $5.00 dollar profit on each and every book sold.  Your donor or customer gets over $400 dollars in savings on local food and entertainment.

At Sunset Coupons we have books that are special for the Phoenix metro area, the east valley (Tempe / Mesa), Tucson AZ and Salt Lake City Utah.

Sunset Coupons Books can imprint your group or school name and/or logo on the cover for a very personalized sales events.

Unlike bigger more expensive coupon books that offer mostly 10% or 20% discounts, Sunset Coupon Books contain mainly 2 for 1 and 50% off discounts. Our customers only need to use 1 or 2 coupons to get their $10 investment back. Most customers like our book better because it is a better value.

So for your fast and effective fundraiser this fall take a clear-cut look at the Sunset Coupon Book program for your school group.

If you are looking to raise funds for your group give Sunset Coupons a call at 800-627-6340 and find out how our quick and easy program can help you raise funds for your group.

Now Is A Great Time To Consider Internal Fundraising

If your fundraising group is located in the Valley of the Sun you know how hot it is and how that affects your fundraising efforts.

This is a great time of year to consider internal fundraising. If you are like most groups you have been to this well before and you don’t want to hear the groans and complaints from the (your) faithful.  If you try to just ask for donations you know how that goes. A small portion of your group will respond.

Have considered selling your group something that is af great value, is wanted and will be used? Your first question may just be … sure but where do I find this “magic” item?

We are going to make some assumptions to go along with this, but feel free to apply this to any other organization.  So, here we go.  You are responsible for raising funds for a large sports team.  The group has more than 200 hundred families involved.

As part of sign-up day you ask that each family contributes one favorite family recipe and $5.00 as part of a special sign-up donation.  Each family will get a team “cookbook”.  We are going to say that at least 80% follow through.  A couple of volunteers could handle this table easily.

So what you have is 160 donations of $5.00 and that gives you $800 income.  You put the collection of recipe into a word processor and set up all of the pages for the cookbook.  These pages with a cover picture now go to your local printer and for $300 he does your Team Cookbooks.  The results is that this fundraiser gives your team a special family value and $500 in the clear.  Consider a good old fashion bake sale as an alternative.

Just as an idea you could raise the same amount by having just 100 Sunset Coupon Books for sale at Sign-up and raise the same amount if only 50% buy a Sunset Coupon Book and you have a lot less work.  It is up to you.

Sunset Coupon Books contain hundreds of dollars in savings from local merchants. The savings enjoyed from using just one or two coupons will pay for the book. And who doesn’t need to save money these days?

Sunset Coupon Books are small enough to fit in a pocket or purse yet contain over 40 family-friendly coupons such as 2 for 1 Meals, and Attractions like Bowling, Mini-Golf, Skating, etc; a combined value of over $400 in savings.

Has your fundraising group tried direct sales to raise money? Were you pleased your results? Did you meet or exceed your goal?

Keep in mind that what you sell makes all the difference.  No matter how good you are selling ice cubes in the winter and chocolate during the summer doesn’t work well at all.

Learn To Cater To The “What Is In It For Me” Crowd

That is always a good one to keep in mind when setting up your fundraising programs.  The
very common idea that is present in many people is the phrase, “What is in it for me?”  They are willing to help others only when and if there is something in it that directly benefits them.

They find it’s easy to trap themselves in their current surroundings and circumstances because they fail to notice what’s in for them and to perhaps make a change or try something new. Many have certainly experienced this. They only learn that doing something for someone else and that there was no or little gain in it for them, but they find they still have a very good feeling about the deed and about themselves.

When you are working to raise funds for your group the friends and family have a vested interesting in helping.  But the community at large will, for the most part, need a reason to help beyond just being nice to your group.

I’m sure you have heard the old adage, “Do only the right things and only for the right reasons”.

These are two great reasons to use Sunset Coupon Books.  That serve the customer or donor by featuring many local merchants with two-for-one specials.  These buy one-get-one offers on food, entertainment and recreation are high value and much appreciated by the buyers.

You are helping your group and helping your buyer as well.  The buyer sees the value for them and the low price of just $10 dollars is very easy to afford and the over $400 hundred dollars in value is a great return on their purchase.

This is what becomes a very easy to sell a Win-Win-Win proposition.  Your group benefits, your customer benefits and the local merchants get to introduce their products and services to new customers. What could possibly be better?

Keep in mind that Sunset Coupon Books are only available in the following locations. The Perfect Fundraiser for Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and Tucson Arizona or Salt Lake City Utah.

That sure sounds like doing the right thing for all the right reasons!  Sunset Coupons wants to help you raise money using the best practices and our useful advice about fundraising strategies.

In This case a good return for your customers leads to a successful fundraiser for your group or charity.

Fundraising Is Hard Work

I think we all get into fundraising because we see a true need.  Yes, it may be directly related to a child, relative, school trip, sports program, illness or favorite cause.

There are many ways to serve your fellow, community or again, that favorite cause.  You can surely donate your time or your money.  Sooner or later if you are still involved someone will ask you to try your hand at fundraising.

They will explain the need, go over the simple steps you need to do to help out.  They will explain that someone else is going to do the really hard work.  If the words Tom Sawyer, paint and picket-fence come to mind, don’t be surprised.

Most of us agree that selling is also hard work, In fact selling is usually the last profession most people think about.

Well you need to know that fundraising is selling.  In many cases you don’t even have a tangible product to go along with your sales pitch. You are asking the person to make a donation without any direct benefit to themselves. At best they will just feel good about themselves because they are helping others.  That is a great drive for asomefolks.

Here at Sunset Coupon Books we have an idea to share that really does make fundraising easier,

One thing I better mention right up front is that our program is only available in limited areas. We are the Perfect Fundraiser for Phoenix, Tempe / Mesa, Tucson Arizona or Salt Lake City, Utah.

Sunset Coupon Books Takes A Day To Remember All of Our Fathers

Typically, families gather to celebrate the father figures in their lives. In recent years, retailers have adapted to the holiday by promoting greeting cards and traditionally masculine gifts such as electronics and tools. Schools and other children's programs commonly have activities to make Father's Day gifts.

We know the Fathers aren’t looking for praise: “Just go be a kid and I’ll do the work around here,” is how the tape in their heads runs. Still, we don’t ignore presidential proclamations around here! And we think it’s good for the all children, of all ages, to recognize the special father for all he does.

Fathers' Day is the U.S. celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated widely on other days by many other countries.

Since 1966, when President Johnson signed a proclamation setting aside the third Sunday in June to honor all American dads, Father’s Day has been an uncomfortable fit for many men. There’s something a bit off about expecting 7-year-olds to be grateful.

To fathers, near and far, past and present, by birth or chosen, at the ball game or those deployed... Happy Father's Day - You make my life Special!

Father's Day was founded in Spokane, Washington at the YMCA in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was born in Arkansas. Its first celebration was in the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910. Her father, the Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, was a single parent who raised his six children there. After hearing a sermon about Jarvis' Mother's Day in 1909 at Central Methodist Episcopal Church, she told her pastor that fathers should have a similar holiday honoring them. Although she initially suggested June 5, her father's birthday, the pastors did not have enough time to prepare their sermons, and the celebration was deferred to the third Sunday of June. Several local clergymen accepted the idea, and on 19 June 1910, the first Father's Day, "sermons honoring fathers were presented throughout the city.

Other cities had held Father’s day celebrations in the years prior to 1910.

Sunset Coupon Books The Best Of The Three

We all know that there are three major types of fundraising.

1. The first is where you simply tell your group’s story and hope that people will give you money to carry on your mission.

3. Last and surely not least is that you purchase items that you do a direct sale to your group and the general public.  Again you hope that this results in a net result of getting more money in than you spent on your sale items.

Which one of these methods does you group use to raise funds?  Have you tried all three? How well have they worked for your group?

Sunset Coupon Books Remembers Memorial Day

All over the country people are gathering to put flowers on graves and renew contacts with relatives and others. There often is a religious service and a "dinner on the ground," the traditional term for a potluck meal in which people used to spread the dishes out on sheets or tablecloths on the grass. It is believed that this practice began before the Civil War and thus may reflect the real origin of the "memorial day" idea.

Somehow “Thank You” just doesn’t seem to be enough. But, to all of the men and women who have fallen while protecting the rest of us, Know That You Will Never Be Forgotten! From all of us here at Sunset Coupon Books.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday where the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War.

The practice of decorating soldiers' graves with flowers is an ancient custom. Soldiers' graves were decorated in the U.S. before and during the Civil War. A claim was made in 1906 that the first Civil War soldier's grave ever decorated was in Warrenton, Virginia, on June 3, 1861, implying the first Memorial Day occurred there. Though not for Union soldiers, there is authentic documentation that women in Savannah, Georgia, decorated Confederate soldiers' graves in 1862.

In 1863, the cemetery dedication at Gettysburg, was a ceremony of commemoration at the graves of dead soldiers. Local historians in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, claim that ladies there decorated soldiers' graves on July 4, 1864. As a result, Boalsburg promotes itself as the birthplace of Memorial Day

By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.

Annual Decoration Days for particular cemeteries are held on a Sunday in late spring or early summer in some rural areas of the South, notably in the mountains. In cases involving a family graveyard where remote ancestors as well as those who were deceased more recently are buried, this may take on the character of an extended family reunion to which some people travel hundreds of miles.

Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day; Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans.

Fundraising in Phoenix Metro, Tucson AZ and Salt Lake City UT

Are you involved in Fundraising efforts in the Phoenix Metro area, Tucson Arizona or Salt Lake City Utah? If you are I have great news for you and your group.  It doesn’t matter if your group is a School, Sports Team, Youth Group, Church or any type of Non-profit. Sunset Coupon Books can help you achieve your fundraising goals.

As you know having the right tools makes any job go faster and have a much more successful outcome. Many groups use some type of “sale item” to raise funds.

Has your group tried that? What were your results?

Keep in mind that what you sell makes all the difference.  No matter how good you are selling ice cubes in the winter and chocolate during the summer doesn’t work.

What downsides did you run into?  Candy sales are affected by the overall move to eating healthy and spoilage can be a big problem.  In the hot summer weather no one wants to buy melted candy.

Consider Sunset Coupon Books as the “tool” your group uses to raise the funds.

Each and every Sunset Coupon Book contains hundreds of dollars in savings from local merchants. The savings enjoyed from using just one or two coupons will pay for the book. And who doesn’t need to save money these days? You can offer your supporters over $400 in savings in every Sunset Coupon Book. Who doesn’t want to save money these days?

Sunset Coupon Books are small enough to fit in a pocket or purse yet contain over 40 family-friendly coupons such as 2 for 1 Meals, and Attractions like Bowling, Mini-Golf, Skating, etc; a combined value of over $400 in savings.

Coupon Books sell for only $10 each. You pay $5 for them so you make $5 for yourself for a full 100% profit.

No Up Front Cost! Sunset Coupons will consign books to bonafide established organizations. Call to see how your group can begin raising money with no out of pocket expense.

Would your group like to sell personalized coupon books?  We can imprint your group or school name and/or logo on the Sunset Coupon Books cover.

Is a Sunset Coupon Too Good To Be True?

Let me ask a simple question… If I offer to give you $400 in products and service for just $10 would you be interested or would you think “that sounds too good to be true?”  I think that is a very fair question.

The important thing is,,, what is your answer?

The reason is that is just what I going to do … to give you a tool that you can promote just that way.  An offer that you can use to raise funds for your Group, School, Sports Team, Youth Group, Church or Non-profit.

Is your group located in Phoenix, Tempe / Mesa, Tucson or Salt Lake City then you can take advantage of the Sunset Coupon Book offer or in reality offers.

What a great message to bring to your next fundraising project.  With a fundraiser built around your organization you can offer hundreds of dollars in savings to your donors.  For a simple purchase of just $10.00 your customer will have a coupon book that offers them 400 hundred of dollars in real savings.

These money saving offers are from local restaurants, merchants, services and entertainment. We all know how tight money is these days and how much these savings offers will mean to your donors.  What better offer could you have?  What better basis could you shout out to tell your potential buyer or donor?

We can save you money while you support our cause.  Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.  We always want to have a true win – win situation.  It is the basis for the best type of deal.

Tomorrow if you opened a newspaper and found that your local grocery store was having a 40 to 60% off sale you would be in your car before your morning coffee got cold. Right?

Another important part of this offer is that your group gets to keep half of the money you bring in. That is right you keep $5.00 of every $10.00 your group collects.

An offer that isn’t too good to be true. You can raise the money within your group or you can make the offer open to everyone you know or new people you go out and meet with.  Really, help people save money on their entertainment and eating out.

Using Sunset Coupon Books you can bring that same offer to your donors, families or friends. We have even better news you can get started with this offer by making a simple phone call to 800-627-6340.  Many charities can get started with us with out spending a cent.  Is yours one of them.

Giving Back Improves Giving

Most fundraising groups think that the only thing they need to do to raise money is ask real nice.  In today’s Social Media climate nothing could be further from the truth.  Another aspect of this is the question often silently asked, What have you done for me?”

What does your group do for your community?  That question is often ignored or minimized by the group itself.  The more often a group is introduced or in front of the general public (of course in a positive way) the more likely a fundraising request is honored.

Anytime of year Fundraising groups should consider giving back to their communities.  I know that your group needs to raise funds to keep up with their commitments for your group’s needs.  But consider your group’s community image.  If you are also seen giving back could it not improve the results during your next fundraising effort.

We tend to think about the needy in our communities.  You could do a clothing drive, or a canned food drive and then make a donation to a local charity that caters to families in need.  Do a publicity release to the local media.  Give them the opportunity to do publicity for you and your group.

A toy drive always is an appreciated service during the Christmas season.  You could work with an established group like Toys-For-Tots and the United States Marine Corps. Or you could work with a local food bank (they always now about community needs).  Many times local churches have an outreach program that you could tie your benefit to.

A community clean-up program is a good project to help others during the spring.  Elderly and those with physical challenges are groups your group to help.

Always take the time to document both the collection and donation parts of your project in photos.  You can use them later to be part of your group’s scrapbook or as part of your display at your next fundraiser.

Consider that your group could simply volunteer time to many of the organizations that are already providing services to those in need.  Make it a group effort from your group to your community.  This is a great no cost effort that can still have all the other recognition and benefits for your group.

These group efforts can also lead to other benefits for your group in the coming months when you need to raise funds.  Your networking can really pay off in the long run.

If you are looking to raise funds for your group give Sunset Coupons a call at 800-627-6340 and find out how our quick and easy program can help you raise funds for your group.

Sunset Coupons Asks If You Can Spell Procrastination?

The dictionary defines procrastination as (noun) the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention.

People tend to put things off, it is just part of human nature.  Are you one who is guilty of procrastination from time to time?

When you are just a few weeks away from your deadline and you are falling short of your fundraising goal is it time to panic? As we countdown the days, here are a few last minute tips to help you with that final fundraising push.

Should you contact your contacts again.  Will that help? Really? Don’t do it so often that they block or delete your future emails.

We always see a spike in donations the last weeks before a deadline, so don’t be afraid to send your web page out in an email to your contacts again.

People don’t always donate right away. You might have emailed them when they were busy, at the wrong end of pay day or they could have just innocently forgotten. Also, even if they’ve already sponsored you, they’ll still be interested to hear how you’re doing.

Give your colleagues a reason to donate again by organizing a pool. For a small, set donation, they get to guess your total fundraising amount. The person with the closest dollar value wins the pool.

But if the thought of everyone betting on your fundraising adds a little too much extra pressure, have a different kind of sweepstake. How about asking them to guess how many sweets are in a jar? Wash out an old jam jar, buy a few bags of sweets and not only have you got a reason to ask people for more donations, you have a sugary prize as an extra incentive.

Local Sunset Coupon book editions are available in Phoenix, The East Valley (Mesa and Tempe for example), Tucson, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah.
